Our Banquet Speaker is Carole Roy
Carole Roy is a Pro-Life Advocate and Speaker whose mission is to be a voice for the voiceless. She tells her story in order to raise an awareness of the sacredness of life, especially among those conceived in rape and incest. By sharing her experience, she expresses how adoption can be a loving option for the unborn child, and to experience the most fundamental of human rights—the right to life.
Adopted as an infant by a loving couple, Carole grew up mostly in the northeastern region of Ontario where she attended French Catholic schools and a local college. For many years throughout her childhood, her parents fostered numerous children from newborn infants to pre-adolescents. Learning how to take care of young children became a training ground for when she would have a family of her own. Now a mother of 3 adult children and a grandmother to 6 grandchildren, Carole greatly enjoys the blessings that the Lord has abundantly poured out upon her and her family—lives that would not be here had she been aborted.
In August 2010, Carole was invited to go to St. Michael’s Media Studio in Michigan to take part in a documentary entitled “Except in Cases of Rape? – 12 Stories of Survival.” Along with eleven others who were either conceived in rape or had become pregnant by rape, Carole was the only Canadian to be included in the recording of this DVD. Meeting others who were also conceived in rape was a blessing and confirmed that God created all of them for His purpose.
As Carole continues to stand up and speak up for pre-born children at various pro-life functions and conferences, her attendance has brought a comforting presence to post-abortive women. She has also witnessed how men have been deeply affected by abortion in very real emotional, psychological and spiritual ways. Her personal involvement in counselling a young girl and saving the life of a precious baby from abortion has been a tremendous blessing, as well as a deeply humbling experience. This little girl is now her “poster child” wherever Carole shares her story.
Carole gives thanks to God the Father for her life and wants to bring Him glory for the life He has given her. She acknowledges His loving hand in her journey of faith. The Lord Jesus has been the pillar on which she stands and His Holy Spirit her constant inspiration. Through her pro-life story and Christian testimony, Carole hopes to inspire people’s hearts and minds, and to make a difference in their lives.
